Non Compliance

Section 80 of the Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 allows for the prosecution of Directors and Managers for failing to manage safety and health in their companies or organisations. A person convicted of a serious breach of safety and health law can be fined up to €3m and/or face going to prison for up to two years.

In 2010 it was announced that a law on Corporate Manslaughter will be introduced in 2011 increasing the risk of being sent to prison where a person has been found negligent.Read more in our News Section.
