Occupational First Aid - FETAC Level 5 ( Code: D20188)
The Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 299 of 2007) requires employers to provide training in Occupational First Aid for their staff. This course leads to a FETAC Level 5 Component Award. Training is valid for 2 years. All of our instructors are registered with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and the Occupational First Aid Assessment Agent (OFAAA).
Course Contents

- First Aid in the Workplace
- Patient assessment
- Respiratory emergencies
- Cardiac First Response Protocols (including AED training)
- Wounds and bleeding
- Altered levels of consciousness
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Burns and scalds, chemicals & electric shock
Preferred Entry Requirement
FETAC Level 4, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences
Course Structure
- Course Duration: 3 days
- Assessment: Skills Demonstration in CPR/AED – 40%, other First Aid Skills – 30% and Short Answer Questions – 30%. Assessment carried out by External OFA Assessor & Moderation by FETAC.
